SLEEP SURGERY
While surgery used to be a very popular treatment for sleep apnoea, it is unlikely to cure sleep apnoea. Tonsillectomy and removal of adenoids may be effective when these are enlarged. Nasal surgery may relieve obstruction and improve tolerance to other treatments for sleep apnoea. However, the success of this technique is limited. it is also difficult to predict which patients will do well with this procedure.
To ascertain which of these treatments are appropriate for you, please discuss them with your doctor.
